Our Wine Featured at the Italian Embassy!

Posted on May 6, 2009

Ionia Atlantic recently donated Andrea Felici Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi and I Giusti & Zanza "Belcore" Rosso Toscana to be served at the Embassy Progressive Dinner hosted by the Center for Global Development in Washington D.C.  The evening included stops at the residences of the Ambassadors of Canada and Brazil, with the main dinner course and Ionia Atlantic wines served at the Italian Embassy.  Andrea Felici's Verdicchio was paired with roasted halibut and the Belcore with beef tenderloin.  The food and wine paired beautifully and added to the Italian ambience the CGD had hoped to achieve.  Guests included individuals working toward influencing policy such as ambassadors, members of U.S. Congress, and philanthropists.

"The Center for Global Development is an independent, nonprofit policy research organization that is dedicated to reducing global poverty and inequality and to making globalization work for the poor. Through a combination of research and strategic outreach, the Center actively engages policymakers and the public to influence the policies of the United States, other rich countries, and such institutions as the World Bank, the IMF, and the World Trade Organization to improve the economic and social development prospects in poor countries. CGD was recently ranked among the world’s top think tanks (number 15 out of several thousand such research organizations) in an independent survey-based ranking published in Foreign Policy magazine." We appreciate the opportunity to be a part of this evening and thank the Center for Global Development for thinking of Ionia Atlantic Imports when searching for Italian wine.
