OUR COMPANY
Ionia Atlantic began in 2003 as importers of fine Italian espresso. With an interest and passion for wine, partners Nathan Woodhouse and Kallie Smith knew that wine importing would soon follow.
After many months of research, tradeshows, and tasting, a line of six Tuscan wines was selected for the first shipment. The shipment reached the U.S. in Fall 2005 including Chianti, Chianti Riserva, Chianti Classico, Sangiovese, Ansonica (Inzolia), and a highly rated Super Tuscan. Through a business relationship with IA Wine Distributing of Marion, Illinois, they were able to begin selling wine within the state.
Although there was some opposition from large distributing companies, the Tuscan wines were met with praise from wine connoisseurs and novices alike. In fact, the Majnoni Guicciardini Chianti Riserva sold out in a matter of months.
Knowing that Sicily (Nathan’s former home) would be the next region of focus, Nathan and Kallie began to search for wines to include in the second shipment. Additional tradeshows and months of tasting resulted in a Summer 2006 order of Sicilian Syrah, Nero d’Avola, Inzolia, and Cerrasuolo di Vittoria, a Pinot Grigio from Veneto, an additional Super Tuscan and Chianti Classico, and replenishments of the Tuscan wines. The new wine received even greater reviews, putting Ionia Atlantic well on its way as a high quality Italian wine importer.
Ionia Atlantic now imports a portfolio of over 40 outstanding Italian wines.
Ionia Atlantic is steadily expanding into new states and welcomes inquiries from distributors, retailers, and consumers alike. The future of Ionia Atlantic appears very bright with continued success and an ever growing portfolio.

• All delivery schedules are subject to delay due to clearance and consolidation restrictions.
• Orders quoted FOB Saint Louis will be shipped within 1-2 business days.
• Orders quoted direct normally take one month to arrive, but may be delayed as long as three months. All orders will be arranged with the distributor and updates will be given as needed.
• Ionia Atlantic is not responsible for orders that are delayed due to government, consolidation, or ocean/inland freight issues.
• Summer delivery can be arranged with reefer service; delivery subject to higher rates.
• Payment is due within 30 days of delivery.
• Discounts may be arranged for payment on delivery.
