Seiterre
Seiterre is a group of like minded producers marketing the wines of six lands, sei terre, under a common label. Our firm imports wine from two regions: Piemonte and Toscana. Seiterre has a commitment to quality that is easily recognizable in each bottle. From Tenuta Montebello in Piemonte, we import the Dolcetto d’Ovada and Barbera del Monferrato. From Podere Sassoscritto in Tuscany comes our 100% Sangiovese “Sassoscritto.” And from Le Capannelle in the Tuscan Maremma comes “Le Capannelle,” a blend of Sangiovese, Merlot, and Syrah.
Tenuta Montebello lies outside the town of Rocca Grimalda, not far from Alessandria. Here they cultivate the vines of Dolcetto, Barbera, and Cortese. The red wines we import are deep and rich, and pair well with the hearty cuisine of Piemonte. A rigorous production policy, which is also eco-friendly, along with an ideal setting in Piemonte, makes these wines a great buy.
Podere Sassoscritto lies outside of Grosseto in the Tuscan Maremma. The vineyards are planted to Sangiovese, Syrah, Merlot, and Vermentino. We import the namesake wine of the vineyard, Sassoscritto, which is 100% Sangiovese. Probably the biggest Sangiovese we’ve encountered, Sassoscritto is deeply extracted and full of flavor. It even pleases the big California Cab lovers of the world.
Le Capannelle is located near the town of Paganico, also in the Maremma. Its vineyards are planted to the same vines as Sassoscritto. Wild and natural, surrounded by cinghiale, wild boar, the vines thrive in this part of Tuscany, very close to the sea. A blend of Sangiovese, Merlot, and Syrah, Le Capannelle exudes the violet nose that Sangiovese can create. A true crowd pleaser, and at a beautiful price too.
