Campo alla Sughera
Situated in the famous wine region of Bolgheri, Campo alla Sughera is a new winery with a dedicated focus to the highest quality wine. Twenty hectares of vineyards including Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Vermentino, Sauvignon Blanc, and Chardonnay are planted in Bordeaux style, with a high number of vines per hectare and a low yield. This enables the grapes to fully develop the characteristics from the terroir and a microclimate of gentle breezes from the nearby Mediterranean. Campo all Sughera, or land of cork trees, lies within the prestigious Bolgheri Rosso DOC zone. Though the winery is young, their dedication to quality is evident and they have been recognized for it with several outstanding ratings. The Adéo and Arnione, both Bolgheri Rossos, are silky, smooth, and not to be missed.
The winery itself has been built with meticulous detail to best produce the wine. The winemaking is done on various levels, dropping underground along the way to allow gravity to transfer the wine, rather than machines and pumps.
Bolgheri’s Strada del Vino Costa degli Etruschi (wine road of the Etruscan coast) is home to some of the most famous wines in the world. We are certain that Campo alla Sughera is right at home in the neighborhood of the estates such as Sassicaia and Ornellaia. With very gently rolling hills, thick evergreen forests, and a decidedly different feel than much of Italy, the Strada del Vino Costa degli Etruschi is a wonderful area to drive or bicycle from winery to winery.
