Tips

Storing Wine

Heat, cold, humidity and fluctuations in these factors (especially heat) can affect wine.  Short-term wine storage doesn’t have to be exact, but should be steady, moderately cool, and out of sunlight.  White wine should not be left in the refrigerator for extended periods of time.

Several of Ionia Atlantic’s wines improve with age and should be cared for a bit more meticulously when storing for a year or more. The ideal temperature for storing wine is around 55º F.  The bottle should be laid on its side so that the cork stays moist, preventing drying and cracking.  Avoid direct sunlight and try to keep the humidity at a moderate 60-75%.
